The 2nd Masters Poker Quarter Final of the year was held on Saturday 20th December 2008 with 110 players turning up for a crack at winning the £1000 first prize.
There was a great atmosphere throughout the day and the whole event ran nice and smoothly. Paul Archer did a great job in organising everything providing a great venue and an abundance of food for the hungry players.
Jodie Archer added to the festive spirit wearing her rather sexy Christmas outfit! AndyDoc once again took up the mic and again acted as the dealer on the final table and Elizabeth Morgan helped with the charity raffle won by Martin Turner. Thanks again to all who were involved in making the day a success.
The Final Table
The final table was very competitive consisting of: Andreas Lytras, the Pub Champion from last season at The Old House At Home, placed 8th. Once again Gareth Edwards, who seems to be reserving a place in the final 8 these days, this time crashing out in 7th. Mark Whittingham, the current 1/4 Final Champ attempting to defend his crown but eventually bombing out in 6th. Kevin Sanders a dark horse who has been knocking on the door for a while now, placed in 5th. Dave Price again a regular at the Final Table this time finishing in 4th. Kieran Gormley who plays at last month's Pub of the Month, The Boatman's Rest, won a new telly for placing 3rd. Runner-up Trevor Kelleher from The Crosswells Inn looking for his first win in a major MPL final but later settling for a brand spanking new laptop. And new MPL Quarter Final Champion, Kirk Jerram from the Duke of York who was runner up in last year's Masters Poker Open. Kirk Jerram won a choice of £1060 Buy-In + £40 spending cash to the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour or £1000 cash! He promptly took the cash! Well done Kirk!
