On the 20th June 2009, at the Castle Gate Casino in Dudley, Dave Brawn was crowned the 2009 MPL Grand Final Champion.

Dave has been playing with the Masters Poker League since the very 1st tournament held at the Perry Hill Tavern on October 1st 2007.

The 2009 Champion had this to say: "Watching and playing poker regularly does not prepare you for the actual moment of being heads up on a final table of a big competition. We’ve all done it many times in our head but to play it is something totally different, I recommend it to anyone and it should definitely be on the list of things to do before you die!"
